Déclic Habitat (formerly Psyhabitat)
The Déclic Habitat project, piloted since 2022 in the north of Loire-Atlantique, aims to support the recovery of people experiencing mental health difficulties through access to, and retention of, housing in ordinary settings.
The program relies on a multidisciplinary mobile team (peer support workers, psychologists, nurses, social workers) who intervene at people’s homes following referrals and in partnership with social housing providers. This makes it possible to identify and support people experiencing psychological distress who are not already known to services. Déclic Habitat also intervenes ahead of hospital discharge to prepare for the person’s return to housing. To complete the program, a respite house offers temporary accommodation, acting as a safety net for people leaving hospital or going through a crisis at home.
Following a successful first pilot phase in the north of Nantes, the foundation is now supporting the launch of a second team (and a second respite house) in the south of the city.
