Déclic Habitat
Piloted in northern Loire-Atlantique since 2022, the Déclic Habitat project aims to promote mental health recovery for people experiencing psychological distress by helping them access and maintain housing in the community.
The program relies on a multidisciplinary mobile team – comprising peer support workers, psychologists, nurses, and social workers – that visits people at home upon referral, in close partnership with landlords. It helps identify and support individuals in psychological distress who are not currently connected to healthcare services. Déclic Habitat also intervenes prior to hospital discharge to facilitate access to housing. In addition, a respite home offers temporary housing, serving as a transition space for individuals leaving the hospital or experiencing a crisis at home.
Following a successful pilot phase in northern Nantes, the Erié Foundation is supporting the establishment of a second team (and a second respite home) in the southern part of the city.
