PROJECT
Mental Health Ambassadors
The ARHM Foundation is a registered charity which works to provide care, professional integration, accommodation and support for adults and children with physical or learning disabilities. To date, it has successively created or taken over the management of health and care home services in the fields of mental health and disability, at all stages of life.
The Erie Foundation supports the Mental Health Ambassadors program a social innovation project dedicated to the most vulnerable young people, using a “peer-to-peer” approach. The aim of the project is to support and train civic service volunteers (“ambassadors”) to work with socially vulnerable young people aged 16 to 25, to educate them about mental health. The ambassadors also take part in social networking activities and provide a permanent online helpline for young people. These activities help young people change their own perceptions of mental health, and helps remove the stigma surrounding the subject encouraging early detection of mental health problems.
