Perinatal outreach teams
AP-HP (Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris) is the university hospital center for Paris and the surrounding Île-de-France region. The center encompasses 38 hospitals that treat 8.3 million patients each year. The AP-HP Foundation works directly with the hospitals to support research and in the organization of care.
The Erie Foundation supports the deployment of mobile units for vulnerable people in the perinatal period. These teams combine medical, nursing, socio-educational and remedial skills, to work with vulnerable parents and children to bring them into the care system. This approach to secondary prevention is flexible, inexpensive and particularly effective given the vital importance of the first 1,000 days of an infant’s life. The need to harmonize and modernize the service are key challenges which the AP-HP Foundation seeks to address.
