Mental distress during pregnancy and after childbirth remains underdiagnosed. Early intervention, however, can prevent worsening and mitigate the impact on both parent and child.

The Erié Foundation supports mobile perinatal psychiatry units within AP-HP (Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris, the leading university hospital network in Paris and the Île-de-France region) to provide support for individuals in need, before and after childbirth. These multidisciplinary teams reach out to vulnerable families to facilitate access to treatment, prevent gaps in care, and safeguard parental and infant mental health.

In 2025, three mobile teams supported 457 families, conducted 1,651 home visits, and provided 1,967 consultations.
