Le “Point de riz” project


Le Point de Riz is a restaurant in Brussels that helps people with mental health problems find work.

The activities offered in the restaurant enable people to rediscover work through the catering trade. Between 20 and 25 people are supported each year by four supervisors. The participants do not come to learn about the catering trade, but to take part in a two-phase work dynamic:

  • The work experience phase (two days a week for four months) aimed at getting back into a routine.
  • The professional project or training phase, which is accompanied by individual follow-up to make it happen.

The restaurant acts as a transitional space, enabling people to get back on track with a project and so resume their place in society.

The foundation is helping to consolidate this project and to strengthen the management team by taking on an additional member of staff.
