‘Les Invités au Festin’ project

Besançon

Les Invités au Festin project develops and manages accommodation and work facilities for people with mental and social problems. It runs living quarters for 37 residents for an indefinite period and a day center which also offers sporting and artistic activities. The association promotes the concept of “citizen psychiatry”, that centers on the healing potential of community over confinement.

Originating in Besançon, the concept has since spread with 133 centers based in France, Belgium and Rwanda.

The Erie Foundation has helped Les Invités au Festin accelerate the development of a digital resource center based on the methodology used by Les Invités’ training courses for different target groups such as professionals, participants and volunteers together with structured support for those wishing to develop similar facilities.
