PROJECT

La Maison d’en face (The House Across the Street)

Fraternative
Tourcoing

Founded in 2006, on the initiative of family carers, Fraternative aims to change the way people with mental health problems are viewed, by helping them to achieve social autonomy through the creation of living spaces within the community. The association runs a daytime reception center enabling adults who suffer from mental illness to re-establish social ties through workshops and group outings. It has also created a ‘family home’ style accommodation for nine people with mental health problems.

The Erie Foundation is supporting the development of the Fraternative project by purchasing an additional house to accommodate eight new residents.
