Clubhouse
The onset of a mental health condition can increase the risk of social isolation and hinder professional integration.
Clubhouse France supports those affected on their path to recovery, drawing on a model proven effective in the United States and based on peer support, self-determination, and individualized guidance toward social and professional reintegration. A Clubhouse is a community space where people affected by mental health challenges – referred to as “members” – participate alongside a team of professionals in the life and activities of the space.
Founded in 2010, Clubhouse France operates 12 locations across the country, including Paris (East and West), Lyon, Marseille, Bordeaux, Lille, Nantes, Rennes, Rouen, Dijon, Grenoble, and Bastia. Its recovery model – officially recognized by the French government in August 2022 – supported more than 2,100 people in 2025 alone, including welcoming nearly 600 new members.
Following an initial grant in 2020, the Erié Foundation renewed its commitment to Clubhouse France at the end of 2024 for a three-year period. This funding supports two major priorities: expanding the model into underserved regions and launching the “Clubhouse France Academy.” The academy will train internal teams while raising mental health awareness among external partners.
The model has demonstrated tangible impacts on members’ journeys, particularly in terms of increased independence, self-confidence, social connections, and reentry into the workforce.
