AilSi research program

Médecins du Monde « Doctors of the world »
Marseille

Since 2020, the Erie Foundation has been supporting AiLSi, a research-action program aimed at offering an alternative to imprisonment for homeless people who suffer from severe psychiatric disorders. The idea is to intervene directly in the courtroom before a prison sentence is pronounced.  As soon as the psychiatric disorder is identified AiLSi offers a new form of outpatient support centered on access to permanent housing and intensive medical and social monitoring over a period of 24 months.

The program, launched in 2021, is run by Médecins du Monde France, an international humanitarian organization that has been working for over 30 years to improve access to healthcare for the most vulnerable populations and to achieve sustainable improvements in healthcare policies for all.
