PROJECT
Vox Psy

Sexual violence experienced by women in psychiatric care remains largely invisible, difficult to identify and address: women with severe psychiatric disorders face a two- to four-fold higher risk than the general population of experiencing violence — domestic, physical, or sexual (source).
Vox Psy deploys a mobile team of two nurses working directly within hospital services: they train and raise awareness among caregivers, co-develop tools with psychiatric teams, and provide expert guidance whenever violence is suspected. Their core mission is to collect patients’ accounts and support them as needed, including through the process of filing a complaint. Patients are further followed by a specialized third-party team, external to the care service.
The challenge: identifying, referring, and addressing situations that have so far gone largely unnoticed, while reshaping practices based on patients’ lived experience.
