Mobile Team for Eating Disorders (ED)
Eating disorders (ED) affect a growing number of young people but remain poorly recognized and inadequately managed by non-specialized teams, due to a lack of suitable tools and training.
Drawing on trials conducted in Belgium and Germany, the FSEF Paris 16 clinic is deploying a multidisciplinary mobile team dedicated to young people aged 12 to 18 with eating disorders across Île-de-France.
The program pursues two objectives: enabling early intervention for the most severe cases, by supporting non-specialized teams in both hospital and outpatient settings, and training frontline professionals (general practitioners, Éducation Nationale staff) to pool skills and expertise around eating disorders.
The project plans to support 240 young people, with 180 of them included in an evaluative research protocol, in order to scientifically validate this model and consider scaling it up more broadly.
